Nature Scientific Reports: Functionally distinct smiles elicit different physiological responses in an evaluative context

Jared Martin is the first author on the latest paper from our lab, published in Nature Scientific Reports. In it we show that dominance smiles do not buffer stress responses in an evaluative context in the same way that reward smiles do. This is the first work to demonstrate smiles of reward, affiliation, and dominance do not all have the same effect on the recipient's physiology.

To hear more about the work, listen to a radio interview Jared did with Radio New Zealand on March 2, 2018!
